Welcome To The Galleries !
With the launch of this cutting-edge gallery system provided by Larry Davis of e-3 Design, we are moving closer to our stated mission of preserving Texas history through education. We'll soon partner with the Texas Heritage Digitization Initiative and the Portal To Texas History in an effort to bring the collections of the Medicine Mound Museum to the masses through a common digital gateway. Once our funding goals are met, we'll begin to "digitize" the hundreds of historic photographs and artifacts in our collections.
We have divided the galleries into two sections - public and research. The public gallery is where you'll find a sort of "virtual museum" to give you an idea what you might see on a typical visit, plus images from special projects such as renovations, etc. The research gallery is reserved for scholars, students, and learners of every kind to see and study images from our rural past.
The galleries are easy to navigate - simply choose one of the links below or at left to get started. As an added bonus, you'll be able to enlarge a photo by simply clicking on it, and each image is captioned with background information (metadata) which is displayed next to it.
