Welcome to the (temporary) DMMPG
members photo galleries ! Our web
guru, Larry Davis, is working on a sophisticated content
management system to be integrated into this section of
the site - the use of special databases and ColdFusion
web technology will allow us to create different galleries,
sub-gallieries, and even display pertinent EXIF information
about each digital photograph that we restore and upload
to the server. Of course, all of this sophisticated stuff
happens invisibly, in the background. Once completed,
our digital photo restoration workflow will allow us to
bring hundreds of photos of frontier life around Medicine
Mound to the world.
Once the Members galleries are up
and running, you'll need a username and password to access
this area of the web site. To give you a hint at what's
to come, this photo was yellowed with age, the emulsion
cracked, with entire portions of the picture destroyed.
Frankly, it looked as if someone spilled the gravy boat
on it. Through the magic of Apple computers and Adobe
Photoshop, the image has been completely restored to better-than-new
condition, and shall someday be displayed at the Medicine
Mound Museum. After carefully scanning the original photo,
our restoration expert was surprised to find that the
little boy in the middle had his finger up his nose when
the picture was snapped - what a hoot !
