Fundraising

Like most non-profits, raising funds to support our stated goals is an integral part of our operation. We must not only meet our financial needs for day-to-day operations through donations and memberships, but we must also raise badly needed funds for special projects.

Converting a sizeable private collection of historic artifacts into a public museum is a very costly endeavor. For example, many grants they we might apply for also stipulate some percentage of matching funds to be provided by our organization. Those matching funds have to come from somewhere........

With that in mind, our Executive Director has negotiated a special deal with an American-based clothing supplier to offer high quality, custom embroidered men's and women's apparel at affordable prices, with all the proceeds going to support the Downtown Medicine Mound Preservation Group. Every item offered for sale sports the cool "Medicine Mound Population 0" logo, too. This is a great way to raise awareness and funds for a most worthy cause - saving the Medicine Mound Museum.
